Murray senior Mary Browder Howell has been named the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association Region 1 Player of the Year.
She is one of seven people named to the All-Region Team. Also named to the All-Region team were Savannah Howell, Trinity Beth, and Megan Hertter of Marshall County; Cathryn Brown of Lyon County; Ellie West of Graves County; and Claire Whittaker of Murray.
Ballard Memorial’s Lisa Glisson was named region coach of the year.
The awards are voted on by member coaches in their own region. The Region Player of the Year is chosen by coaches votes from among the top three players in the region based on the All-State points list from the conclusion of the season.
The Region Coach of the Year is chosen from among all member coaches for that season.
