Caldwell County senior outside hitter Olivia Mitchell has been named first-team all-state for the second straight year.

Mitchell, the 2nd Region Player of the Year each of the past two seasons, helped the Lady Tigers (19-5) win the regional championship last week for the first time since 2011.

The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association released its 2020 All-State Teams on Monday.

Mitchell is nearing 1,900 career kills and has recorded over 1,000 digs with the Lady Tigers.

Mitchell leads Caldwell this season with 446 kills through the regional title match. She is second on the team in digs with 226.

Mitchell was also a first-team selection last year and was honorable mention as a sophomore.

Also earning an all-state nod from Caldwell is senior middle blocker Abby Griggs, who was named All-State Honorable Mention.

The only other 2nd Region player to make the list was Madisonville-North Hopkins senior libero Alexis Fliehman.

Abby Shadwick of Lexington Henry Clay is the 2020 Ms. Kentucky Volleyball. Shadwick, a senior outside hitter, has helped lead her team with 240 kills to a Top 5 KVCA ranking.

Senior libero Eleanor Beavin of Mercy Academy in Louisville is the 2020 KVCA Defensive Player of the Year. For the third year in a row, Beavin receives the award after achieving over 370 digs and averaging over seven digs per set.

Coach Dale Grupe of Henry Clay is the 2020 KVCA Coach of the Year. Grupe coached his team to a 20-3 record and an 11th Region championship.
