Madisonville’s Fliehman Selected Honorable Mention All-State

Madisonville-North Hopkins senior libero Alexis Fliehman has been named All-State Honorable Mention by the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association.

The KVCA released its 2020 All-State Teams on Monday.

Fliehman recorded a team-high 529 digs this season while helping the Lady Maroons go 17-6 and reach the championship match of the 2nd Region tournament.

Fliehman was one of just three 2nd Region players selected for the KVCA All-State Teams.

Caldwell County senior outside hitter Olivia Mitchell was named first-team all-state for the second straight year.

Caldwell senior middle blocker Abby Griggs was named honorable mention.

Abby Shadwick of Lexington Henry Clay is the 2020 Ms. Kentucky Volleyball. Shadwick, a senior outside hitter, has helped lead her team with 240 kills to a Top 5 KVCA ranking.

Senior libero Eleanor Beavin of Mercy Academy in Louisville is the 2020 KVCA Defensive Player of the Year. For the third year in a row, Beavin receives the award after achieving over 370 digs and averaging over seven digs per set.

Coach Dale Grupe of Henry Clay High School is the 2020 KVCA Coach of the Year. Grupe coached his team to an 20-3 record and an 11th Region championship.

KVCA All-State Teams are voted on by KVCA member coaches.
