Trigg County’s Austin Cavanaugh has been named to the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Class 2A All-State Cross Country Team.
Cavanaugh became the first Trigg County runner since 1987 to win the region cross country meet. After a 10th place finish at state in 2019, the Wildcat sophomore finished sixth at the state meet last week. It was the best finish for a Trigg runner at state since the school moved to Class 2A and the best finish overall since Eric Ezell finished third in 1986.
Cavanaugh also won the Fenton Dawson Invitational at Trigg County and had four finishes inside the top-three this year.
