Hopkinsville golfer Cate Blane is among the girls 2nd Region golfers being honored by a statewide youth golf association. The Bluegrass Golf Foundation Tuesday morning announced the selection of 112 boys and girls golfers across the state as Bluegrass Golf All-Stars, with an additional 67 players recognized as Honorable Mentions.

Results from events are used to determine Bluegrass Golf All-Stars and Honorable Mentions.

Blane was among the three female golfers from the 2nd Region to be recognized as an All-Star. She placed third at this year’s 2nd Region girls’ golf tournament, and then made the cut at the state tournament, ultimately finishing in 53rd place.

The ranking system used in the selections combines points earned in the best five (5) high school regular season events, Regional Tournament, and State Tournament. Bonus points are awarded for all players with a score of -3 or better as well as players with scores between -2 and +1.

Each of the All-Stars will receive a membership with the Bluegrass Golf Tour and an invitation to compete in the Cullan Brown Invitational which helps support the Cullan Brown Memorial West Kentucky Junior Golf Development Fund.
