Caldwell’s Tripp Branch Chooses Centre College

After getting a slew of college football offers from NCAA Div. III schools and one from NAIA Lindsey Wilson College, Caldwell County senior Tripp Branch has made a decision.

Branch announced on social media on Tuesday that he will play on the next level for Centre College in Danville.

The Colonels compete in the Southern Athletic Association.

Branch, a wide receiver who has also seen action at strong safety this season for Caldwell, has 16 receptions for 305 yards and four touchdowns this year. The Tigers (3-3) had three games canceled this year due to COVID-19 or those numbers would be even higher.

A year ago, Branch led the Tigers in receiving yardage, catching 29 passes for 423 yards and five scores as Caldwell went 8-3.

Branch and the Tigers still have unfinished business this season, with a Class 2A playoff date at Murray coming up Friday night.
