Heritage Christian Academy’s guards did the heavy lifting in the first half, and the inside guys sealed the deal in the second half to lead the Warriors to a 68-51 win at Clarksville Christian Monday.

Carlos Robles scored 15 of his game-high 26 points in the first half, and Matt Wills added six of his 11 points as the Warriors led wire to wire in the game. Robles also had 14 rebounds and four steals in his best game since transferring to HCA last year.

HCA led 15-8 before the Centurions ended the first quarter with a 3-pointer at the horn. The Warriors turned up their defensive pressure in the second quarter to outscore Clarksville Christian 22-6 and build a 37-17 halftime lead.

Weston Powell scored eight of his 12 points in the second half and pulled down nine rebounds.  Triston Folz scored eight points in the game and had 12 rebounds as the Warriors outrebounded Clarksville Christian 49-29.

The Centurions got as close as 58-45 with 4:33 left but didn’t get any closer.

HCA hit 31-of-75 shots for 41-percent and got up 16 more shots than Clarksville Christian.  The Centurions hit 19-of-59 for 32-percent.  If there was a dark cloud over the Warrior win, it was their 4-of-16 performance at the free throw line.

Malik Williams led Clarksville Christian with 18 points.

Heritage Christian [2-0] is off until December 7 when they travel to South Haven, Tenn.
