Jamarion Sharp Commits to Western Kentucky

Former Hopkinsville High big man Jamarion Sharp will be taking his basketball skills to Western Kentucky University. Sharp made the announcement on social media Monday.

As a freshman at John A. Logan College, Sharp was named to the Great Rivers Athletic Conference Team in 2019-20.  The 7-foot-1 big man averaged 5.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.7 blocked shots a game in helping John A. Logan finish undefeated in conference play for the first time in school history on their way to a 28-5 record.

In high school, Sharp averaged seven points and eight rebounds his senior season and was named to the Kentucky All-Star team that played two games against the Indiana All-Stars in the summer of 2019.

“We offered Jamarion four years ago when he was a high school junior at Hopkinsville and wasn’t playing. We watched Coach Tim Haworth work him out at halftime, and we offered him that night. It’s very obvious his upside is unlimited,” WKU Coach Rick Stansbury said in a social media post.
