KyKy Tandy scored a career-high 24 points, including seven points in the final 3:24, to help Xavier hold off Toledo 76-73 Friday in the championship of the Xavier Classic in Cincinnati.

Tandy hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 3:24 left and later added a bucket to push the Muskateer lead to three. Tandy was 7-of-17 from the field and 3-of-5 from behind the arc.

It was a nice bounce-back game for the sophomore from Hopkinsville who scored only four points in 18 minutes of Xavier’s 51-50 win over Bradley Thursday.

In three games this year, Tandy is averaging 15.3 points and 3.7 assists while shooting 9-of-19 from 3-point range.

Xavier [3-0] will host Eastern Kentucky Monday. Next Wednesday, Tandy will have a Second Region flashback when the Muskateers host Tennessee Tech. Madisonville alum Kenny White is a freshman at TTU and scored 13 points in the Golden Eagles’ 89-59 loss to Indiana Wednesday.
