Revised Winter Sports Plan on Agenda for Special Called KHSAA Board of Control Meeting

At its last meeting, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Board of Control set January 4 as the start date for the winter sports season, with practices allowed to begin on Monday, December 14. Whether or not that plan holds up is expected to be decided at a special called meeting of the Board of Control this week.

The agenda for the special called session has been released and discussion of the winter sports plan is on the agenda for Thursday morning’s meeting.

According to the agenda, decisions expected during the meeting include:

1 – Consideration of an Adjusted Calendar Including State Basketball Dates and Spring Sport Date Confirmation

2 – Postseason Event Format and Potential Schedule Adjustments-Basketball

3 – Postseason Event Format and Potential Schedule Adjustments-Individual Sports

4 – Postseason Event Format and Potential Schedule Adjustments-Sport Activities

5 – A Potential Additional Special Meeting to Deal with Other Winter Championships

The meeting is set for 10am Eastern Time Thursday.
