Reece Jesse will leave the Hopkinsville High football program as the holder of most of the school’s season and career receiving records.  In the meantime, he also wants to leave as a state champion.

The Tigers are preparing for their Class 4A state semifinal showdown at Boyle County where Jesse figures to be a key focus of the Rebel defense.

The 6-foot-3 receiver has over a dozen offers from Division I schools for football including Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee in the SEC.  He said he has not set a date to announce his college choice.

In a COVID-shortened season, Jessee has 32 catches for 712 yards and seven touchdowns.  His first quarter touchdown reception against John Hardin last Friday in the region championship was the 24th of his career and broke C.J. Henagan’s record of 23.

Last year, Jesse put his name in the Tiger record book with receptions for 1,184 yards and 15 scores.  He also had 15 touchdowns which were two shy of a new school mark.

For his Hoptown career, Jesse owns the school records for catches (115), yards (2,378), and touchdowns (24).

Jesse also starts for the Hopkinsville basketball team where averaged eight points and six rebounds as a junior while shooting 59-percent from the field.

Could a third sport be in Jesse’s future?  Jesse thinks he could be a player on the track in the 200 and 400 although he has not committed to running in the spring.
