It’s been a tough few months for Fort Campbell boys’ basketball coach Robbie Townsend.  In addition to coaching, he serves as the athletic director for the school.  The DoDEA didn’t allow soccer and football in the fall at Fort Campbell.  As of now, they’ve also pulled the plug on winter sports such as basketball and wrestling.

Townsend is allowed to hold conditioning and skills work with his team in hopes the DoDEA reverses course and allows the games to begin as they did with volleyball in the fall.

More important than keeping skills sharp, Townsend and the other coaches at Fort Campbell have been working hard to monitor the mental health and attitude of their players who are fearful of losing a full calendar year of sports due to COVID-19 concerns.
