Austin and Hope Leading the Way for Oakland City Women’s Hoops

A couple of former All-Sixth District girls’ basketball players are off to good starts on the hardwood for Oakland City University.

Webster County alum Marissa Austin hit for a career-high 15 points off the bench including three 3-pointers Thursday in an 84-52 loss at Evansville.  It was a 10-point game at the half before the Aces outscored the Mighty Oaks 27-9 in the third quarter.

For the season, Austin is averaging 11 points in 20 minutes of action.

Former Henderson County standout Emilee Hope scored nine points and added three rebounds against Evansville.  Hope is third on the team in scoring for the season at 10.8 ppg.

Oakland City plays in the River States Conference.
