Seven Trigg County football players have been named to the Class 3A All-Western Kentucky Conference Football Team.

Senior Jaquellus Martin, juniors Kendric Adams and Keller Nichols, sophomores Matt Alex Ladd, and Jason Wease, and freshmen Jhaden Vaughn and TayShaun Linton were named to the squad.

Martin led the receiving corps with 31 catches for 711 yards. His 11 touchdowns are third-most in a season behind Devron Wadlington [2000] and Steve Oliver [1970].

He finished his career with 13 touchdowns which are tied for fifth-most in TCHS history.

Martin set the single-game receiving record with 242 yards against Paducah Tilghman on Nov. 20.  His three touchdowns that night are tied for second-most in TCHS history.

Wease threw for 1,587 yards – the most ever for a Trigg County sophomore. His total is the eighth-highest in a single season for a TCHS quarterback.

Wease completed 100 passes on 235 attempts during the season. Had he not been injured in the final game against Paducah Tilghman, he likely would have broken Dan Moser’s single-season record of 243 attempts set in 1999.

Wease’s 19 touchdown throws are tied for fifth-most in a season.  Moser threw 36 touchdowns in 2000.

Against Marshall County on Oct. 9, Wease was 19-of-41 passing.  The 19 completions are tied for fifth-most in a game, while the 41 attempts are third-most behind a pair of Moser games.

Nichols, who also plays for the Wildcat soccer team, knocked home 35-of-38 extra points and a field goal.

Adams led the Wildcats in rushing with 611 yards and ran for seven touchdowns.  He ran for 219 yards and a touchdown in a late-season win over Warren Central.  Adams also led the Wildcats on defense with 75 tackles in 10 games and two sacks.

Vaughn had 27 catches for 372 yards at receiver and tied for the team lead with three interceptions on defense.

Ladd and Linton played on both sides of the Wildcat line and helped the Trigg offense average 317 yards per game, including 178 passing yards. Both players had three tackles for loss on defense.
