Lyons Off to Best Start Ever, Rout Livingston to Get to 12-0

Lyon County is now off to the best start in school history after routing 5th District foe Livingston Central 90-35 Thursday night in Smithland.

The Lyons, who improved to 12-0, seized control of the contest early and coasted to the lopsided triumph.

Lyon led 24-5 on the way to a 31-13 advantage after just 8 minutes.

The Lyons outscored the Cardinals 27-5 in the second period to take a 40-point margin to halftime at 58-18.

Lyon was up 78-33 through three quarters on the way to the 55-point win.

The Lyons beat Livingston 102-53 two weeks ago in Eddyville.

Travis Perry scored 23 of his game-high 30 points in the first half.

The Lyons also got 18 points from Jack Reddick and 15 from Jackson Shoulders.

Livingston (2-10) was led by Max Downey’s 16 points.

The Lyons will be in action again on Saturday when they play a pair of home games in the Akridge Ace Hardware Classic. Lyon meets Calloway County at 2 p.m. and Ballard Memorial at 6 p.m. at Jason White Gymnasium in Eddyville.
