Caldwell County swept its way to victory Saturday, defeating four other schools easily at a five-team wrestling match at Trigg County.
Caldwell got a 65-6 win over Warren Central. Caldwell wrestlers who picked up wins in contested matches were Logan Brown at 106 [fall]; Cofy Walls at 132 [pin]; Riley Johnson at 138 [fall]; Ethan Newsom at 145 [fall]; John Paredes at 160 [20-5]; and Cole Sherill at 220 [fall].
Caldwell beat Bardstown 66-12. Three wrestlers saw action in contested matches and all three won by pin – Ethan Newsom, John Paredes and Colin Walls.
Caldwell shut out Hopkinsville 61-0. Logan Brown [9-3]; Collin Teutsch [fall]; Timothy Nichols [fall]; Riley Johnson [fall]; Ethan Newsom [fall]; John Paredes [fall]; Colin Walls [fall]; and Cole Sherill [10-0] all notched wins.
The Tigers beat Trigg County 55-6. Wrestlers getting wins in contested matches were Logan Brown [fall]; Timothy Nichols [fall]; Cofy Walls [4-3]; Riley Johnson [fall]; Ethan Newsom [fall]; and John Paredes [12-0].
