Mallory Peyton homered and scored twice to help Kentucky to a doubleheader sweep of Samford Friday in Homewood, Alabama.
The UK senior and Madisonville alum homered as part of an eight-run first inning in the nightcap as the No. 13 Wildcats coasted to a 15-3 win. Peyton was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Union County alum Jaci Babbs had a walk and scored a run in the game.
Kentucky won the opener 4-0.
Christian County alum Emmy Blane played in both games but did not bat. She recorded five putouts and one assist in the field.
Kentucky will complete the three-game series with Samford Saturday.
