Heritage Christian Academy wasn’t pleased with its seeding for the KCAA boys’ basketball super regional last weekend.  Placed on the same side of the bracket as the tourney’s top seed and state’s No. 3 team, the Warriors lost in the semifinal round.

Despite being ranked fourth or fifth for most of the season in the KCAA Power Poll, the Warriors were seeded sixth for this weekend’s state tournament. Coach Matt McGowan is hoping that added motivation will help as HCA plays No. 3 seed Trinity Christian Friday at 9 pm at West Jessamine High School.

Trinity Christian has applied for KHSAA membership and as a probationary school, can play teams in both the KCAA and KHSAA this season.  The Titans won nine straight games against KCAA schools before they were upset in the super regional finals by Community Christian. They were 5-2 against KHSAA schools.

HCA enters the tournament at 8-12. A win Friday moves them into Saturday’s semifinals.
