Blazers Claim Two Titles at State Indoor Games

Helped by two first-place finishes, the University Heights boys’ track team came in fourth place at the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Class 1A State Indoor Track Meet Saturday. The event was held at the new Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center in Louisville.

The 1600-meter relay team of Connor Dill, Mason Price, Will Hancock, and Trey Wyatt won the indoor state title in the 1600-meter relay, edging the team from Bishop Brossart by .38 seconds.

Sam Cotthoff won the shot put by over two feet.  His winning toss was 40-feet and a half-inch.

Connor Dill reached the medal stand twice as an individual, finishing third in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.75 and grabbing a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter run in 54.22 seconds.

Mason Price finished sixth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.23 seconds and was ninth in the 60-meter dash in 7.59 seconds.

Walter Kunnmann was seventh in the 800-meter run in 2:15.34.

Ray Farmer was 12th at 3000 meters at 12:45.90 and was 19th in the 1500-meter run with a time of 6:40.96.

Will Hancock came in 13th place with a time of 11.17 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.

Trey Wyatt came in 14th in the 60-meter dash in 8.12 seconds and was 15th in the 200 meters in 26.55.

Chase Hendricks was 15th in the 800-meter run in 2:23.68.

The 3200-meter relay team of Ray Farmer, Luke Shouse, Chase Hendricks, and Cole Glover finished fourth in a time of 10:09.

In the field events, Luke Shouse finished fourth in the high jump with a height of 5-feet, 2-inches.

Trey Wyatt was 14th in the long jump with a distance of 14-feet, 1.5 inches.

Ray Farmer was 19th in the shot put with a toss of 21-04.25.

UHA scored 46 points to finish fourth behind St. Henry [105], Bishop Brossart [88], and Louisville Holy Cross [55].

The Blazers open the track season Saturday at Calloway County.
