Trigg Opens Fishing Season With Third Place Finish and Big Bass

Trigg County finished third Saturday at the Student Angler Federation bass fishing stop on Kentucky Lake that kicked off the 2021 high school season.

Trey Carr and Savannah Chambless caught five fish that weighed 13.1 pounds.  Carr had the big bass of the event with a 5.8-pound fish.

Muhlenberg County’s Brock Vincent and Hayden Jones won with 15.4 pounds.  Their teammates Lane Turley and Nick Jones were second with 15.1 pounds.

Anthony Ethridge and Dominic Sabatino finished ninth with a catch of 10.11 pounds. Their big bass was three pounds.

Mitchell Green and Christian Jones finished 27th with three bass weighing 5.13 pounds. Their big bass was two pounds.

Meanwhile, Jordan Hampton and Hunter Shelton fished Saturday at the Kentucky BASS Nation Tournament on Lake Cumberland. They entered the weekend second in points with three tournaments left.

Tough conditions and high lake levels saw them catch one fish at 1.91 pounds. They finished in 31st place and were one of just 41 teams to bring a bag of fish to the weigh-in. There were 97 boats that entered.

Trigg County will fish again Match 27 at Kentucky Dam Marina.
