HCA Takes Two in Scrimmages with Fort Campbell

Runs came in abundance Saturday for the Heritage Christian Warriors. Traveling down to post to take on the Fort Campbell Falcons in a pair of scrimmage games Saturday, the Warriors scored 33 runs in sweeping a pair of games from the Falcons.

In the opener, Heritage scored in every inning as they rolled to a 19-6 win. David Jent had a big game for the Falcons, going 3-4 with two doubles and 3 RBIs. Grant Floyd was 2-3 with three runs scored. Trenton Hayes finished the game 2-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

After a slow start, Fort Campbell did manage to plate two runs in each of the third, fourth, and fifth innings.

Five different pitchers saw action for the Warriors, combining to give up five earned runs on just four hits. Jaydon Nichols had five strikeouts. Grant Floyd struck out four Falcons.

The second game saw more of the same. Heritage Christian scored in three of its four innings, including an 8-run first inning, as the Warriors won the second scrimmage 14-2.

The Falcons scored a run in the first and a run in the fourth.

Trenton Hayes was 2-2 for the Warriors with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Grant Floyd was 2-2 with an RBI and a run scored.

On the mound, Jackson Thompson and Tra Fowler combined to pitch the four innings, giving up just one earned run on one hit. Each had three strikeouts in the game.
