Todd Central bounces back from its first defeat on Friday to move to 4-1 on the year.  The Rebels return to the field on Tuesday with a trip to Hopkins County Central.

A 2-out RBI double by Collin Crook gave the Maroons the lead in the top of the 1st, but an error allowed the Rebels to tie the game in the bottom of the inning.

Hunt hit two of the first four batters he saw in the 2nd and the Maroons took advantage to push a run across on an RBI by pitcher Parker Mathis.

Mathis walked a pair, with a run coming in on the second, and Bicksler followed with an RBI single to put the Rebels in front 4-2 after two.  Despite a double and two singles in the 3rd, Hunt pitched out of trouble to maintain the 2-run margin.

Ethan Taylor took over on the mound for the Maroons to start 4th, walking the first batter to allow the Rebels to add a run on Bicksler’s second RBI double of the game for a 5-2 lead.

Hunt looked to be getting stronger as the game went on and he cruised through the 5th, recording 2 of his 7 strikeouts.  Grady Reding singled to bring in Zack Robinson and stretch the Rebel lead to 4, and Hunt pitched around a pair of singles to keep the Maroons at bay in their next at-bat..

Todd Central added some insurance in the bottom of the 6th when Nate Reding picked up an RBI and then came home on an error.  Hunt handed off the 8-2 advantage to Preston Rager to start the 7th and he retired the Maroons in order to cap the victory.

Hunt earned the win after allowing only 2 runs, 1 earned, on 8 hits with no walks and 7 strikeouts.  The Rebel pitchers didn’t walk a batter throughout.

On the other side, Mathis took the loss after three innings of work.  He gave up 4 runs, 3 earned, on 4 hits with 5 walks and 6 strikeouts.  Taylor pitched the final three, allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, on 3 hits with a pair of walks and 4 strikeouts.

In addition to 2 hits and a pair of RBI, Bicksler also drew two walks.  Five other Rebels had a hit, with Nate and Grady Reding each driving in a run.
