2021 Trigg Football Schedule Will Be Road-Heavy Early

4-9-trigg

Trigg County’s next football coach will inherit a 2021 schedule that won’t feature a home game until mid-September but finish with five of the last six at home.

Trigg’s schedule features four teams that were not on the 2020 schedule.

The Wildcats will open on the road at Todd County Central on August 20. It will be the first meeting between the schools in five years and Trigg’s first trip to Elkton in six years.

Trigg will travel to Warren Central for a second straight year on August 27. The Wildcats won the first-ever meeting between the schools last year 42-24.

The Wildcats will make another repeat trip to a school on September 3 when they visit Ty Holland Stadium to play Murray. The Tigers handed the Wildcats a 41-6 loss last year in Murray. Trigg last won in Murray in 2008.

Trigg County will visit Fort Campbell on September 10. The schools were scheduled to play last year, but Fort Campbell’s season was canceled due to COVID-1 concerns. Trigg County has won three straight games against the Falcons and will be looking for a fourth straight victory for the first time in the series that dates back to 1965.

Trigg County’s first home game is September 17 when LaRue County makes its first trip to Perdue Field. The Hawks were 4-3 last year and are coached by Josh Jaggers, the son of former Trigg County football player and athletic director Marty Jaggers.

Following a Sept. 24 bye week, the Wildcats open district play at home against Paducah Tilghman.

Trigg County steps out of the district to host Fulton County on October 8. It’s the first game between the schools since 2008.

The Wildcats will jump back into district play on October 15 at Webster County and will host Union County on October 22.

Trigg County will close out the regular season on October 29 against Caldwell County in the 139 Bowl at Perdue Field.

Because there are only four teams in Class 3A, District 1, Trigg County is automatically in the playoffs with the three district games to determine seed placement.

Trigg County will play a preseason scrimmage at McLean County on August 6 and host Russellville on August 13.
