Atkins Scores Pair of Third Place Finishes at Region Swim Meet

Chase Atkins scored a pair of third place finishes for Hopkinsville at the Region I Swim Meet at the Rick Cohn Aquatic Center.

The Hopkinsville senior was third in the 50-yard free [23.30] and third in the 100-yard free [51.08].

Cam Peacock was ninth in the 200-yard free [2:25.01] and 11th in the 100-yard breaststroke [1:25.49].

Murray won the boys’ team title with 368 points.  Madisonville was second followed by McCracken County. Fort Campbell finished fourth with 184 points.

Hopkinsville was seventh with 47 points, and Christian County was eighth with 44 points.

Murray also won the combined team score with 797 points. Madisonville and McCracken County finished second and third respectively. Hopkinsville was fourth with 342.5. Fort Campbell was sixth with 276 points, and Christian County was ninth with 119 points.

The region meet was held without fans or the media per KHSAA attendance regulations due to COVID-19.
