Hoptown Lady Tigers Take Second at Region Swim Meet

Ella Falco repeated as region champion in the 200-yard freestyle and was a member of a championship relay team to help Hopkinsville to a runner-up finish at the Region I Swim Meet Saturday at Hopkinsville High School.

Elizabeth Langhi, Riley Robinson, and Grace Cansler also brought home top-5 finishes for Hoptown.

Ella Falco – 1st in the 200-yard free [1:58.50]; 1st in the 100-yard free [54.58]

Elizabeth Langhi – 2nd in the 200-yard IM [2:21.41]; 3rd in the 50-yard free [26.57]

Riley Robinson – 3rd in the 100-yard breaststroke [1:14.64]; 5th in the 200-yard free [2:11.18]

Grace Cansler – 4th in the 100-yard breaststroke [1:19.88]; 9th in the 50-yard free [29.79]

Addison Grise – 7th in the 500-yard free [6:24]; 11th in the 200-yard free [2:25.38]

Ashton Grace – 8th in the 100-yard fly [1:22.49]; 10th in the 200-yard IM [2:57.94]

Livie Jorgensen – 8th in the 100-yard free [1:05.76]; 10th in the 50-yard free [30.04]

Caroline Payne – 10th in the 100-yard backstroke [1:25.01]; 11th in the 100-yard free [1:08.15]

 

The 200-yard free relay team of Elizabeth Langhi, Riley Robinson, Ella Falco, and Livie Jorgensen finished first in a time of 1:48.67.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Elizabeth Langhi, Riley Robinson, Ella Falco, and Livie Jorgensen finished second in 2:02.52.

The 400-yard free relay team of Grace Cansler, Ashton Grace, Caroline Payne, and Addison Grise finished fifth in 4:34.60.

Murray won the girls’ team title with 429 points. Hopkinsville was region runner-up with 295.5 points. Fort Campbell came in seventh with 92 points, and Christian County was eighth with 75 points.

Murray also won the combined team score with 797 points. Madisonville and McCracken County finished second and third respectively. Hopkinsville was fourth with 342.5. Fort Campbell was sixth with 276 points, and Christian County was ninth with 119 points.

The region meet was held without fans or the media per KHSAA attendance regulations due to COVID-19.
