Lindsey Wilson’s Jaylen Boyd Earns First Team All-Conference Honors

Former Caldwell County football standout Jaylen Boyd has been chosen First Team on the All Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division squad.

Boyd, who earned Bluegrass Division First Team honors last season and was an NAIA All-American in 2019, rushed for 1,119 yards and 12 touchdowns, helping the Blue Raiders reach the NAIA Football Championship Series Playoff Semifinals. Lindsey Wilson finished the 2019 season at a program-best 12-1.

The Blue Raiders are 7-0 this season and are seeded third for the NAIA playoffs.

Lindsey Wilson opens postseason play on Saturday when they welcome Bethel (Kansas) to Blue Raider Stadium for the NAIA Football Championship Series First Round. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. CDT.

Lindsey Wilson had numerous players honored by the Mid-South Conference on Thursday.

Head coach Chris Oliver was selected as the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Ron Finley Coach of the Year while Cameron Dukes repeated as the Craig Mullins MSC Bluegrass Offensive Player of the Year.

In addition, Dukes, Boyd, Eli Cross, Joe Gressette, Jaleel Warren, Terrill Cole, Ian Sauter, Cameron Thurman, Luke Bowman, Robert Carter and Joshua Lewis were First-Team All-MSC selections while Lewis, Cullen Cox and Peyton Doles each collected second-team conference honors.

A 2015 Caldwell County grad, Boyd is second on the Tigers’ all-time rushing list with 5,451 yards. He owns the Tiger single-season rushing record with 2,041 yards in 2012.
