Heritage Christian Academy scored five times in the first inning and made it stand up in an 8-5 win over Clarksville Christian Thursday.

Two walks and three hit batters set the table for Madison Warren and Kailyn Stanley to drive in runs with singles.

HCA added two more runs in the fourth inning on a single by Hallie Zieg and a double by Warren.

Singles by Zieg and Warren plated HCA’s final run in the sixth inning.  Warren had a three-hit day for the Lady Warriors, while Zieg added two hits, and Stanley and Emily Dilday each had one.

Freshman Kennedy Hughes got the pitching win, scattering six hits and striking out three while walking just two.

Heritage Christian, who is ranked No. 5 in the latest KCAA Power Poll, returns to action Monday at Franklin Road Christian in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
