Jase Felker Goes 7-for-8 With 8 RBIs in Rend Lake Sweep

Former Caldwell County standout Jase Felker had himself a day as Rend Lake College swept a doubleheader at Southeastern Illinois College on Tuesday.

In the two games combined, Felker went 7-for-8 at the plate with a pair of doubles, eight runs batted in, four runs scored and four stolen bases.

Felker’s Warriors claimed the opener 20-9 as he went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs, three runs and two steals.

Felker was then 4-for-5 with a double, five RBIs, a run and two stolen bases in a wild game two that saw Rend Lake prevail 19-16. The Warriors led that game 10-0 early, then trailed 15-13 late before pulling out the victory in the high-scoring affair.

Rend Lake is now 19-16 on the season, heading into a twinbill at Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Ill., on Friday.

For the season, Felker leads Rend Lake with a .440 batting average, nine home runs and 50 runs batted in.

Felker is a 2018 Caldwell County High School grad.
