Heritage Christian Academy only needed 4 innings to blast hosts Lakeside Christian Academy 20-1 on Friday night behind 3 hits and 4 RBI for the Warriors’ Trenton Hayes.
The Warriors spent more time on the road to and from Morehead than they did on the field, pounding out 14 hits and holding the host Falcons to a single base knock.
Leading 1-0 in the top of the 2nd, a pair of 2-out walks loaded the bases and four-straight RBI singles from Carter Glover, Hayes, Weston Powell, and David Jent blew the game open.
Tra Fowler tripled to score a run and give HCA a 7-0 advantage in the top of the 3rd and the Warriors closed the show with a bang in the 4th. Seven base hits, 6 walks, and 2 hit by pitch led to 13 runs to finish off the scoring.
Powell earned the win with 3 innings of work, allowing a single hit with a walk and 6 strikeouts. Jent pitched the 4th, yielding the Falcons’ only run with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.
Glover, Powell, Jent, and Grant Floyd each had 2 hits for the Warriors, with Powell and Jent driving in 2 runs each.
