Trigg Girls Excel on Track in 3rd-Place Hoptown Invite Finish

The Trigg County girls’ track team took home a pair of individual wins and two relay wins to pace a 3rd-place showing at Saturday’s Hopkinsville Invitational at the Stadium of Champions.

The Lady Wildcats scored 93 points to finish 6.5 points back from 2nd-place Hopkinsville.  University Heights took the top spot with 120 points.

Top Trigg County Scorers

DeDe Barbee – 1st in the 400-meter dash (1:01.93); 3rd in the 200-meter dash (28.43);.

Fatu Crain – 1st in the 100-meter dash (13.43).

Riley Brame – 3rd in the 100-meter hurdles (19.39); 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles (55.19); 3rd in the triple jump (26-06.00).

Trinity Cavanaugh – 10th in the 100-meter dash (14.55).

Taylor Goodwin – 15th in the 100-meter dash (15.12); 18th in the 200-meter dash (32.36); 8th in the 400-meter dash (1:18.60).

Reese Bush – 8th in the 800-meter run (2:57.57); 5th in the 1600-meter run (6:31.46).

Evonna McGee – 12th in the 800-meter run (3:44.98).

Iyana Grubbs – 3rd in the long jump (14-04.50).

Alliyah Thomas – 8th in the long jump (12-08.00); 4th in the shot put (25-08.50); 13th in the discus (50-08.25).

Alex Smith – 9th in the shot put (22-02.50); 9th in the discus (57-03.50).

Alivia Norwood – 11th in the shot put (21-02.00); 14th in the discus (50-06.25).

The 4×100-meter relay team finished 1st (53.08); the 4×200-meter relay team finished 1st (1:52.49); the 4×400-meter relay team finished 2nd (4:36.64).
