Morales’ Big Day Helps UHA Girls to 1st Place at Hoptown Invitational

UHA senior Evelyn Morales breezed to wins in both the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles on Saturday at the Stadium of Champions, while also earning the top spot in the high jump, to help the Lady Blazers to a 1st-place showing at the Hopkinsville Invitational.

The UHA girls were the only team to tally over 100 points on the day, posting 120 to top 2nd-place Hopkinsville’s 99.50.

Top UHA Scorers

Evelyn Morales – 1st in the 100-meter hurdles (16.94); 1st in the 300-meter hurdles (50.21); 1st in the high jump (4-10.00).

Jaila Batey – 2nd in the shot put (28-03.00); 2nd in the discus (74-04.75).

Piper Hancock – 1st in the 800-meter run (2:34.48).

Lucinda Wilkins – 8th in the 1600-meter run (6:58.60); 3rd in the 3200-meter run (16:50.19).

Grace Pape – 12th 200-meter dash (31.43); 4th 400-meter dash (1:10.69).

Allison Bullen – 5th in the 800-meter run (2:25.57).

Audrey Grise – 2nd in the long jump (14-07.00).

Ragen Pollard – 3rd in the shot put (26-01.00); 8th in the discus (58-09).

The 4×200-meter relay team finished 2nd (1:56.14); the 4×400-meter relay team finished 1st (4:22.02); the 4×800-meter relay team finished 1st (11:03.23).
