Trigg Wraps Up Second Day at State Bass Fishing Tournament

Christian Jones and Mitchell Green finished 28th at the KHSAA State Bass Fishing Tournament Saturday. Their two-day catch was the seventh-best for a Trigg fishing team at state.

The fish were plentiful for Trigg County on the second day of the KHSAA State Bass Fishing Tournament on Kentucky Lake. But they just weren’t big.

Christian Jones and Mitchell Green, who were inside the top 10 after the first day, produced a bag of 7-pounds, 3-ounces Saturday. They recorded 11-pounds, 6-ounces on Friday. Their total catch of 18-pounds, 9-ounces was good for 28th place.

The total catch by Green and Jones is the seventh-best by a Trigg County team at the state tourney.

Anthony Ethridge and Dominick Sabatino had a two-day total of 15-pounds, 4-ounces that was good for 50th place. They caught 7-pounds, 9-ounces on Saturday and 7-11 on Friday.

The Muhlenberg County tandem of Lane Tooley and Camden Harris took first place with a two-day total of 30-pounds, 8-ounces, which was over four pounds more than the second-place team of Alex Gray and Dalton Fisher of Knox Central.

It’s the fourth time in eight years a team from Muhlenberg County has won the state bass fishing championship.  A team finished in second place two other times.

Dominick Sabatino and Anthony Ethridge finished in 50th place at the KHSAA State Bass Fishing Tournament.
