Big 4th Inning Carries Lady Lyons Past Logan County

Lyon County used a big fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and go on to a 7-4 win over the Logan County Lady Cougars Saturday afternoon at Christian County High School. The Lady Lyons used four hits to generate six runs in the game-turning inning.

The Lady Lyons took the early lead in the contest when Sydney Melton, Kaelyn Conger, and Gracen Wynn went back-to-back-to-back with singles in the bottom of the first inning to go up 1-0. Logan County would get a run of their own in the top of the 2nd to even the game at 1-1.

The game would stay that way until Lyon County got things cranked up in the bottom of the fourth. Tori Schenk, Lauren Davis, Hadlie Butler, Sydney Melton, and Kaelyn Conger all had RBIs during the rally.

Logan County would score two runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh, but could not get any closer than three runs coming down the stretch of the game.

Kaelyn Conger ended up 3-4 in the game with a double and an RBI. Tori Schenk was 2-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Seven different Lady Lyons had a hit in the game as Lyon County scored their seven runs on 10 hits.

Kaelyn Conger got the start in the circle for Lyon County, going four innings. She gave up one run on two hits, striking out three while walking only one. Lilly Perry pitched three innings in relief, giving up three runs on three hits, striking out three, and walking three.
