Caldwell County’s track teams were both victorious in a tri-meet at Hopkins County Central on Thursday.
Caldwell’s boys totaled 75 team points to outpace Madisonville-North Hopkins (44) and Hopkins Central (35).
Caldwell’s girls had 68 points to best Madisonville (46) and Hopkins Central (28).
Top performers for the Tigers included Ethan Weatherspoon, who was first in the 100-meter dash in 11.62 seconds and second in the 200 dash in 24.91.
Blake Vivrette was first in the high jump at 6-feet even and also won the 400-meter dash in 53.68 seconds.
Baron Wells took first in the 200-meter dash in 23.91 seconds and was third in the 100 dash in 11.84.
Giovante Riley won the long jump competition at 17 feet, 6 inches.
Isaiah Joyner took the triple jump at 34 feet, 6 inches. He was second in the 110-meter hurdles in 21.31 seconds.
Ethan Ward placed second in the discus with a throw of 86 feet, 6 inches.
Elijah Shaheen was second in the high jump at 5 feet, 8 inches. Shaheen was third in the long jump at 16 feet, 4 inches.
Cooper Mobley was second in the shot put at 33 feet even.
Cale Goodwin finished second in the 3,200-meter run in 14:40.53. He also placed second in the triple jump at 24 feet, 7.5 inches.
Jordan Ladd took third in the discus at 76 feet, 5 inches.
Caldwell’s guys also won the 4×100-meter relay, the 4×200 and the 4×400, and were second in the 4×800.
For the Lady Tigers, Tamia Walker won the 100-meter dash in 13.51 seconds and was first in the 200 dash in 27.86 seconds. Walker was also first in the long jump at 12 feet, 9 inches.
Ava Pickett took the high jump at 4 feet, 2 inches. She finished second in the 400-meter dash in 1:13.38.
Jordan Ortt won the triple jump at 22 feet, 4 inches, and was third in the 800 run in 2:58.18.
Addyson Schott placed second in the 800-meter run in 2:57.05.
T.J. Goodwin was second in the triple jump at 21 feet, 8 inches.
Amaya Merritt was third in the 200-meter dash in 31.56 seconds.
Mariah Merritt was third in the 100 dash in 14.50.
Kaylee Brown took third in the discus at 65 feet, 9 inches. She was also third in the shot put at 24 feet, 3 inches.
Kylee White placed third in the 1,600-meter run in 6:19.84.
Mycah Riddle was third in the long jump with a leap of 10 feet, 2.5 inches.
Caldwell’s girls also won the 4×100-meter relay, the 4×200 and the 4×400 relay and were second in the 4×800 relay.
The Caldwell County track teams will compete in an eight-team meet at Marshall County Tuesday.
Besides Caldwell and Marshall, other schools taking part will be Fort Campbell, Mayfield, Ballard Memorial, Graves County, Paducah St. Mary and Christian Fellowship School.
