Penn State transfer quarterback Will Levis is not a player who is familiar to Kentucky players and fans. However, receiver Wan’Dale Robinson has an idea what Levis might bring to the Wildcats since replayed against Levis when he was at Nebraska before he also opted to transfer to UK after the 2020 season.

“He is a big kid with a strong arm,” Robinson said.

The two “talked a little bit” after they both put their names into the transfer portal.

“When he hit the portal and knew I was coming here, he wanted to get my thoughts,” Robinson said. “I am excited for him to be coming to give us another arm in the (quarterback) room to figure out who will be the starting quarterback.”

Robinson also knows plenty about redshirt freshman quarterback Beau Allen. The two have been friends for years and played annually against each other in high school when Robinson was at Western Hills and Allen at Lexington Catholic.

They openly talked about playing together in college when they were in high school before Robinson went to Nebraska and Allen signed with Kentucky. Robinson did reach out to Allen when he put his name into the transfer portal.

“It was never like to get any real inside information. I just asked how he was feeling about the team and the new OC (offensive coordinator),” Robinson said. “He told me if I came he would be happy. But it didn’t take long for us to get comfortable on the field.”
