Christian Fellowship Softball Wins Twice at Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell’s girls fell just short in the first game of a twinbill on Friday, bowing to Christian Fellowship School 8-7. But CFS pulled away late in game two to claim a 23-8 decision and earn the doubleheader sweep.

In the first game, the visiting Lady Eagles led 8-2 in the fourth inning before the Lady Falcons cut the final margin to just a single run.

Jayden Jackson was 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs batted in for Christian Fellowship School.

Carrie McCrary went 2-for-3 for Fort Campbell and drove in two while Anika Weisbrich also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Each side had 10 hits in the contest.

Jackson was the winning pitcher for CFS, allowing just one earned run and striking out six while going the distance in the circle in the five-inning contest.

In the second game, Christian Fellowship broke an 8-8 tie with a 15-run fifth inning to pick up its second win of the day.

The Lady Falcons actually led that contest 7-5 through three innings.

CFS outhit Fort Campbell 21-7 in game two.

Zailey McClain went 4-for-5 with an RBI for the Lady Eagles while Rhema Howard had two inside-the-park home runs and finished 2-for-4 with six runs batted in. Gracie Howard was 3-for-4 with a homer and knocked in five.

For the Lady Falcons, Weisbrich went 2-for-3 and drove in two.

McClain was the winning pitcher in that game. She tossed the final four innings for CFS, allowing five earned runs on four base hits.

Christian Fellowship improved to 8-9 while Fort Campbell fell to 5-16.

The Lady Falcons are scheduled to host Owensboro for two games on Saturday.
