Trigg County scored six runs over the final three innings to rally for a 9-4 win at University Heights Academy Thursday.

The Trigg win spoiled Regan Pollard’s best game of the season in the circle for the Lady Blazers. She allowed just one run and three hits in the first four innings while striking out five.

Down 4-3 in the fifth, Rylee Hendricks sent a shot to the bottom of the fence in right field and came around to score on a UHA error to knot the game at 4-4.

In the sixth inning, Trigg took the lead for good when Ashlyn Brown singled and later scored on a misplayed fly ball by the Lady Blazers – one of three UHA errors on the afternoon.

Trigg added four insurance runs in the seventh inning on just a single hit. The Lady Wildcats were helped by two walks and a UHA error.

Rylee Hendricks had three hits and three runs scored for the Lady Wildcats, who won their fifth straight game against UHA.

Pollard got the Lady Blazers on the board in the third with a two-run double to the left-field fence.  Breanna Daniel followed with an RBI groundout to put UHA up 3-1.

Avery Wade got her team-leading fifth win for the Lady Wildcats in relief, striking out eight in over four innings of work.  She allowed just three hits and one earned run.

UHA [5-8] will travel to Todd County Central Monday, while Trigg County [6-13] hosts Dawson Springs Friday.
