Helped by a strong showing in the throwing events, Todd County Central’s boys’ track and field team finished 9th Monday at the Class 1A, Region 2 Meet at Green County High School.
X’Zavion West and Angel Villanueve both had a third-place showing with Villanueve adding a fifth-place finish in the shot put.
The top two finishers in each event automatically qualify for the state meet. The next 10 best performances in each event from the state-at-large also qualify.
Todd Central scored 16 points to finish in ninth place.

X’Zavion West – 3rd in the shot put [42-05.50]; 9th in the discus throw [91-06]
Angel Villanueve – 3rd in the discus throw [113-06]; 5th in the shot put [37-02.75]
Omarion Riddick – 7th in the 100-meter dash [11.96]; 9th in the 200-meter dash [25.07]
Ayden Wood – 8th in the 800-meter run [2:25.21]
Tanner Robinson – 11th in the 400-meter run [1:01.64]
Franklin Grullon – 12th in the 200-meter dash [25.92]
The 800-meter relay team of Franklin Grullon, Tanner Robinson, Conner Dulin, and Omarion Riddick finished sixth in a time of 1:49.21. The same group of runners also finished sixth in the 400-meter relay in 51.11 seconds.
