Several members and former members of the University Heights Academy girls’ soccer team had a very successful weekend at a state club soccer tournament in Tennessee. A total of nine current and past Lady Blazer players were involved in the tournament with their club teams at three different age levels.
The Armada FC U19 team with Grace Pape, Piper Hancock, and Kate Cansler took a 3-1 win in the D2 state championship game. With the title win, the team will now compete in the USYS Regional tournament against 11 other state champions in two weeks in Decatur, Alabama. The team finished the weekend with a record of 4-0.
Two other teams completed their play with state championships on Saturday representing the Clarksville Soccer Club. The CSC U15 team with Anna and Addi Fourqurean was crowned state champions after a battle that ended in PK kicks.
And, the CSC U13 team with Skylar Cantrell, Kate Cayce, Audrey Perry, and Kendall Hancock was crowned state champions Saturday after a 3-0 win.
