It seems to be an annual occurrence, just like tax filing day. The Christian County Lady Colonels returned to the 8th District championship game again Memorial Day afternoon as they cruised past Fort Campbell 15-0 in three innings in the opening game of the 8th District tournament.

The Lady Colonels got a three-inning no-hitter from Gracie Harned as Christian County clinched another trip to the 2nd Region softball tournament, which is scheduled to get underway Saturday on their home field.

Christian County took advantage of nine hits and six walks to score five runs in the first, six in the second, and then four more in the bottom of the third to close out the win.

Gracie Harned and Kaleigh Shaw had two hits each to lead the Lady Colonels. Harned and Shaw, along with Riley Hancock, Karlee Crick, and Chloe Craft had two RBIs each for Christian County.

Pickle Winkler added three stolen bases for the Lady Colonels. The first of those set a new season stolen base record for Christian County.

The Lady Falcons season ends with a record of 5-19.
