Falcons’ Haughenbury Can’t Maintain Strong Start at State Tennis

After taking the first set of his opening match on Tuesday at the KHSAA State Tennis Tournament at Top Seed Tennis Club in Lexington, Fort Campbell’s Andrew Haughenbury battled an injury through much of the match and fell in a tiebreaker to Community Christian’s Addicus Hughes.

Haughenbury, a junior playing in only his ninth match this season, was strong out of the gate in the 8 AM matchup with Hughes.  He took the first set 6-4, bat an injured finger slowed him down in a 0-6 loss in the second.  Hughes took the tiebreaker 1-0(4) and moved on to the second round where he fell 2-6, 0-6 to Zach White of Tates Creek.
