Fort Campbell Places 22nd at State Track Meet

Fort Campbell had two individuals reach the medal podium at the Class 1A State Track and Field Meet Thursday in Lexington.

Jeremiah Holley jumped 19-feet, 10.75 inches to finish sixth in the long jump and added a sixth-place finish in the triple jump at 39-feet, 8-inches.

Cole MacMurry medaled in the pole vault with an eighth-place finish at a height of 10-06.

Niklas Sujanani just missed the podium with a ninth-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.42 seconds. He also finished 15th in the long jump.

Amari Waddy was 15th in the triple jump at 37-11.75.

Chance Bryant was 17th in the pole vault with a height of nine feet.

Darrion Hutson came in 22nd place in the 110-meter hurdles in 19.48.

The 400-meter relay team of Jeremiah Holley, Niklas Sujanani, Cole MacMurry, and DaQuan Robinson reached the medal podium with a fifth-place finish with a clocking of 45.16, which was a season-best.

The 800-meter relay team of Niklas Sujanani, Cole MacMurry, DaQuan Robinson, and Jeremiah Holley finished in ninth place with a time of 1:35.47.

The 3200-meter relay team of Deontez Jenkins, Nathan Kovacevic, Aiden Fix, and Amari Waddy finished in 18th place.

Deontez Jenkins, Brody Sharp, John Montalvo, and Mateo Cerritos Gatto finished in 19th place in the 1600-meter relay.

As a team, the Falcons finished in 22nd place with 11 points.  Louisville Holy Cross scored 55 points to win the Class 1A state title.
