Personal Bests Fuel Autumn Bell to State Meet Podium Trip

Christian County junior Autumn Bell turned in her best performances of the track and field season Saturday at the Class 3A State Meet in Lexington.

Bell qualified for the state meet in four events – two running and two jumping.  She established a personal best in all four and reached the medal podium in the triple jump.

Bell jumped 35-feet, 5.5-inches on her first jump of the day.  It was 14 inches better than the previous best she achieved at the region meet.  She will enter her senior season four inches shy of Martaija Armstrong’s 2013 school record.

She finished 12th in the long jump with a distance of 16-feet, 2.25 inches.  She is four inches shy of the school record there as well.

In the running events, Bell was 10th in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.31 seconds, shaving .04 seconds off her personal best.

In the 100-meter dash, she ran a 13.09 to finish in 13th place knocking .03 seconds off her previous best.

Bell’s two points for Christian County gave them a 36th place finish in the team standings.

Autumn Bell finished seventh in the triple jump at the Class 3A State Track Meet in Lexington.
