With the summer dead period approaching, one area school is looking for a coach to head up its football program. Fort Campbell coach Jeff Rodgers has confirmed to YourSportsEdge.Com that he has stepped away from the Falcon program.

Rodgers steps away without having the chance to have coached the Falcons in a regular-season game. He was selected to replace Josh Robins who left after the 2019 season for the head coaching job at Todd County Central High School.

While most schools had shortened seasons in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fort Campbell had no season at all. DoDEA announced prior to the 2020 season that Fort Campbell High School would only be allowed to participate in low-impact fall sports. That guideline applied also to winter sports.

Fort Campbell finally returned to a full schedule of sports with the 2021 spring season.

Earlier this spring, DoDEA officials announced that fall sports at Fort Campbell would proceed as normal for the time being.

Rodgers previously served as a Fort Campbell football assistant coach for 12 years, serving under coaches that include Marshall Patterson, Rocky Cobb, and Josh McKillip.

No reason has been publicly given as to what was behind Rodgers’ decision.

The next coach for the Falcons would be the 6th since the 2012 season.
