Ryan Myers knew college baseball was in his future.  Even a baseball-less spring of 2020 didn’t deter his plans and made him put in extra work for 2021.

The Hopkinsville High alum saw the hard work pay off Tuesday when he signed a scholarship letter to attend the University of the Cumberlands.

Myers hit .312 in 2021 with a home run and a team-high 32 walks that led to 43 runs scored, also a team-high.

As a sophomore, he batted .295 with two home runs and 21 runs batted in. He also stole 20 bases.

The University of the Cumberlands is an NAIA school in Williamsburg that competes in the Mid-South Conference.  The nationally-ranked Patriots were 46-8 and won their conference, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament.
