Trigg County High School has looked “westward” for its next head baseball coach. School officials announced Friday that McCracken County assistant coach Taylor Follis had been hired to take over the Wildcat baseball program.

Follis has spent the past three seasons as an assistant for the Mustangs, where he was part of a state runner-up program in 2019 and 2021. He also has spent time coaching at Covington High School in Tennessee.

In addition to his baseball duties, Follis will join the football coaching staff under first-year head coach Chris Ezell.

Follis replaces Tyler Magan, who coached the Wildcats for two seasons. Trigg County finished the 2021 season at 13-16, losing to Crittenden County in the opening round of the 5th District tournament.
