Hite’s Hat Trick Helps Trigg Down Crittenden County

Trigg County’s seniors played a role in its first five goals Thursday to lead the Lady Wildcats to a 6-1 win over Crittenden County on senior night at the Complex.

Before the match, seniors Allie Hill, Jayne Dearth, Maddie Morrow, Bailey Boone, and Paige Kelly were recognized.

Hill scored Trigg’s first two goals in a three-minute stretch of the first half.  The first came in the eighth minute when Dearth crossed a pass to Hill who knocked it home.  Hill’s second goal came off a corner kick from Olivia Noffsinger.

Nine minutes later, Boone fed Dearth who scored her second goal of the season.

Crittenden County got on the board in the 27th minute when Brynn Porter rebounded a missed shot to cut the Trigg lead to 3-1.

Sophomore Laina Hite then finished the scoring for Trigg County with a natural hat trick.  Hite scored twice in a three-minute stretch off passes from Hill and Morrow to build the Trigg lead to 5-1 at intermission.

Hite’s tenth goal of the season came in the 55th minute.

Trigg outshot Crittenden 23-10 including 16-7 in the first half.

Crittenden County dropped to 5-7 overall and 0-3 in district play.

Trigg County is now 5-4-1 overall and concludes district play with a 2-2 record. The Lady Wildcats will host University Heights Academy Tuesday.

Laina Hite scored the final three goals for Trigg County Thursday.
