Todd County Central Tames Lady Wildcats in Straight Sets (w/PHOTOS)

When the Todd County Central Lady Rebels have won on the volleyball court this season, they have made quick work of their opponent. Such was the case again Tuesday evening as they hosted Franklin Simpson in a 13th District match. The Lady Rebels rolled to a straight-set sweep, their 11th sweep of an opponent this season.

In fact, other than a COVID forfeit, all the wins for the Lady Rebels this season have been in straight-set sweeps.

In the opening set Tuesday night, the Lady Rebels opened by scoring the first seven points and never looked back. Todd Central ended up winning the set 25-14. Lanie Bivins had two aces and two kills. Emily Oden added three block kills for the Lady Rebels in the opening set.

The Lady Rebels opened quickly again in the second set, jumping out to a 6-1 lead. Todd Central continued to pull away from there, going on to win the set 25-10 and taking a two sets to none lead in the match. Lucy Chester had a big set to lead the Lady Rebels with five kills and an ace. Lanie Bivins added three kills.

The third set saw Franklin Simpson take an early 5-2 lead, but that turned out to be fools good for the Lady Wildcats. The Lady Rebels went on a 15-5 run to take a 17-10 lead. From there, Todd Central rolled on out to win the set 25-15 and close out the sweep. Lucy Chester added five more kills in the set. Lanie Bivins finished the set with three aces and a kill.

For the match, Lucy Chester finished with ten kills. Lanie Bivins added seven kills and five service aces. Addileigh Wofford had another big night setting up her teammates, finishing the match with 20 assists. She added four aces and one kill.

The Lady Rebels are set to return to the court Thursday when they travel to Christian County.
