Seeding in the 8th District Tournament to be Settled in Final Week

Believe it or not, the high school soccer season kicks off its final week Monday. In the 8th District, there are still some seeding positions that will need to be resolved this week.

On the girls’ side, Hopkinsville has locked up the top seed with a 3-0 record.

University Heights is currently second with a 1-1 record, having lost to Hopkinsville and beat Fort Campbell. A win over Christian County this week would give the Lady Blazers the second seed.

Christian County is 0-1, having dropped a 4-1 decision to Hopkinsville. The Lady Colonels have matches against Fort Campbell and University Heights on Wednesday and Thursday.

Fort Campbell is currently winless in district competition.

In the boys’ district standings, University Heights has locked up the top seed. The Blazers are 3-0 in the district with one goal wins over Christian County, Hopkinsville, and Fort Campbell.

Fort Campbell is currently 1-1 in the district. The Falcons will square off against Hopkinsville Thursday evening. A win for the Falcons would give them the second seed in the 8th District tournament.

Hopkinsville is 0-1 in district play. The Tigers have matches against Christian County and Fort Campbell in the final week.

Christian County is 0-2 in the district. The Colonels have a pair of one-goal losses to UHA and Fort Campbell. The Colonels will take on Hopkinsville Tuesday.

District tournament play will begin across the state a week from Monday.
