Hite Nets Four to Send Lady Wildcats Past Mayfield

Lania Hite found the back of the net four times and the Trigg County girls’ soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a 6-0 victory over hosts Mayfield on Thursday.

The Lady Wildcats have now won three straight heading into Monday’s 5th-District semifinal matchup with Crittenden County.  Trigg took both regular-season meetings, outscoring the Lady Rockets 10-1.

Hite got started early with a goal inside the first five minutes before Maddie Morrow doubled the advantage in the 21st minute.

Hite was on target again off an assist from Olivia Noffsinger and added her third goal with just over ten minutes left in the half.  The Lady Wildcats took a 5-0 lead into the break after Allie Hill scored in the final seconds.

Hite took her season total to 25 with a goal in the 48th minute and they cruised in from there.  Trigg outshot the Lady Cardinals 22-3.

Goalkeeper Sarah Sink earned her second straight shutout and third of the season.
